The tank I am buying is pretty much the same price and quality at both places. So might as well go with the cheaper installation . Called them and chatted with them , none would give any details.

Just come to store and found out. Did you have to change the old Black piping to the new code PVC White piping ? How much was the approximate charge for that, if you did ? One of my neighbours on the other hand used his pickup truck but it took three of us to get it into his basement. Cost me a bit but saved my back. 80 for basic installation and delivery.

A job like that is going to cost you. HD brought the tank, installed and removed the old one. I have just purchased a power vent tank from Lowe’s and looking for a plumber to install. Problem is I found so many plumbers but none of them are natural gas licensed. I am replacing a tank and all connections are already there. I was also told that I have to change black pie to white however is working fine. Basement is finish so to install white pipe they have to rip the ceiling. Just got a quote from both and had a similar experience.
